If you only have 2 minutes of attention this is it:
What would you say if I were to tell you that you already speak Spanish but don't realize it yet?
That is the premise behind my method for teaching languages, let's put it to the test…
Picture in your mind a regular Monday:
Isn't it true that's the day when you find the most Lunatics in traffic on your way to work?
Of course that’s nothing when you compare it to how crazy people can get about parking when you do grocery shopping in the super Mart on Tuesday.
By Wednesday I think most of us know we won't make it through the rest of the week without a little music: Do Re Mi… air collapses so sweetly into your ears with those notes.
Thursday and we are ready to pounce on Whoever dares to rub us the wrong way
Needless to say by Friday I am so dead because of work that I could almost make use of my prepaid funeral plan: just so I can be carried away in a Bier
Many people reserve Saturday for spiritual purposes, perhaps it comes from the ancient jewish custom of keeping the Sabbath
And finally on my most cherished day of the week, Sunday, I feel like playing some Dominoes
You deserve my congratulations dear friend, for with those sentences you have just memorized absolutely all the days of the week in Spanish!
If you have 5 more minutes…
Is it really possible to learn all the days of the week in Spanish with just 7 sentences?
Don't believe me, believe your brain: all it really needs is an explanation of the former sentences and you'll be good to go.
Still don't believe me? See for yourself:
Monday: the day of Lunatics (In Spanish Lunes.)
Tuesday: the day of grocery shopping at the Mart ( In Spanish Martes.)
Wednesday: The day Do Re Mi… air collapses in your ear (In Spanish Miércoles.)
Thursday: The day you pounce on whoever dares rub you the wrong way. (In Spanish Jueves.)
Friday: The day I am carried in a Bier (In Spanish Viernes.)
Saturday: the jewish day of rest, the Sabbath (In Spanish Sábado.)
Sunday: the day for playing Dominoes (In Spanish Domingo.)
Feel a little uneasy about pronunciation? Relax, just type the word in the translation App of your preference, hit the speaker icon and listen to it as many times as needed, this will help you see why the English words chosen for the sentences are so appropriate: they sound almost the same as the Spanish days of the week.
Thanks for reading, see you in the next blog.
P.S. By the way, do you have any suggestions for my next post? Your question could be the next one I write about, feel free to send your ideas to:
